Drs Budi Harso MSi, Kepala Badan Narkoba Nasional Propinsi DIY mengatakan untuk kasus Psikotropika dari Januari hingga Mei 2011 terdapat 23 kasus dengan jumlah tersangka 26 orang, Narkotika 65 kasus dengan jumlah tersangka 78 orang dan Obat Berbahaya (Obaya) 20 kasus dengan tersangka 19 orang. Sehingga jumlah ada 123 tersangka. Jumlah ini tersangka laki-laki ada 112 orang, dan tersangka perempuan ada 11 orang.

”Sementara pada lima bulan tahun 2010, untuk Psikotropika 35 kasus dengan jumlah tersangka 56 orang, Narkotika 77 kasus dengan jumlah tersangka 82 orang dan Obaya 14 kasus dengan jumlah tersangka 15 orang. Dengan demikian, jumlah tersangka seluruhnya ada 161 orang. Dari jumlah ini, 151 orang laki-laki dan 10 tersangka di antaranya perempuan,” katanya, Jumat, 24 Juni 2011.

Sementara itu Ir Tri Harjun Ismaji Msc, Sekda Propinsi DIY mengatakan, penyalahgunaan dan perederan gelap narkotika, psikotropika dan bahan adiktif lainnya dewasa ini sudah sangat memprihatinkan serta terus mengalami peningkatan baik dari segi kuantitas maupun kualitasnya.

”Terbukti dari tahun 2004 angka prevalensi penyalahgunaan narkoba sebesar 1,5 persen dari jumlah penduduk Indonesia dan pada tahun 2008 meningkat menjadi 1,9 persen atau setara dengan 3,3 juta jiwa,” katanya.

Meski kasus Narkoba di Yogyakarta, mengalami penurunan namun kata Tri Harjun pihaknya tetap terus waspada terhadap bahaya narkotika. Maka upaya pencegahan, pembrantasan penyalahgunaan dan peredaran gelap narkoba (P4GN) mutlak harus dilakukan seacara lebih komprehensif dan multidisipliner.

''Oleh karena itu, kami mengimbau kepada Bupati/Walikota, kepala Badan /Dinas/Biro/Pimpinan Perusahaan Pemerintah/Swasta, Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat dan seluruh Komponen Masyarakat di DIY bekerjasama untuk pencegahan dan pemberantasan narkoba,” katanya.
